TIDAL was founded 1999 by Jörn Janczak, when he was 24 years old. He just had one main goal: to build the best speakers in the world.

Not defined by building the biggest ones, not defined by building the most expensive ones or any other cheap aspect. And for sure he never intended to create the most famous brand in the world, since such motivation is almost ever contrary to the result. Just the finest at all.

Enthusiastic clients worldwide enjoy TIDAL's exclusive handcrafted masterpieces. Their satisfaction and references helped us garner an excellent reputation and confirmed that TIDAL Audio creates world-class equipment, handmade in Germany. The fact that TIDAL also developed reference quality amplifiers, with the same driving philosophy of creating the best, shows that TIDAL is growing and developing.

TIDAL was originally located in a classy old home situated in Germany's capital of musical culture, Leipzig.  From the very first beginning all TIDAL products were delivered with its standard trademark: real black piano finish in a quality never before seen in speakers. TIDAL was the first producer, worldwide, to provide these noble surfaces as a standard feature on all models.

In 2002, TIDAL began development on our reference amplifiers.

TIDAL hand makes every product. The loudspeakers and amplifiers are a labour of love, meticulously crafted by talented and dedicated people who love what they do. TIDAL is not a mass production manufacturer nor it is a basement DIY kit producer. Only by hand building and testing each product can the highest, most exacting standards be maintained.
